Trump’s team announced its readiness to consider Orban’s idea of a “Christmas truce”

US President-elect Donald Trump’s team believes that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s initiative for a “Christmas ceasefire” and a large-scale prisoner exchange could be discussed if it is the first step towards an end to hostilities.
About this reported Congressman Mike Waltz, appointed by Trump as national security adviser. He noted that the Hungarian Prime Minister maintains regular contact with the Russian side. In addition, the congressman recognized the good relationship between Orbán and Trump.
“Orbán is in regular contact with the Russians, and he clearly has a good relationship with President Trump, and I hope the whole world wants to see some kind of end to the carnage that’s going on in eastern Ukraine.”, — said Volz.
At the same time, he did not specify whether Trump had conveyed any messages to the Russian president. Volz stressed that Trump’s team is ready to consider Orbán’s proposal in detail if it is the first step toward an end to hostilities.
“We must stop the fighting. And if Orbán’s proposal is some type of ceasefire as a first step, again, we will look carefully at what that means.” – emphasized the adviser of the newly elected president.
