Їхні батьки вбиті горем, змушені приходити на могили замість того, щоб готувати сніданок, відводити до школи чи обіймати перед сном. Однак є й інші діти, чиє життя обривається не війною, а байдужістю чи жорстокістю власних батьків. В країні, яка щодня бореться за виживання, все частіше з’являються новини про дітей, яких не вберегли, продали, заморили голодом, чиї маленькі тіла ховали, як небажане сміття. Усе було чітко продумано: вона мала отримати гроші, а маля віддати іншій людині. Однак те, що жінка вважала легким способом заробити, закінчилося для неї наручниками. Під час передачі немовляти та отримання грошей її затримали правоохоронці. Як виявилося, жінка вже має сина віком 1 рік і 10 місяців, а отримані від продажу дитини гроші разом зі своїм співмешканцем планувала витратити на автомобіль. Усе відбулося так швидко, що дитина навіть не зрозуміла, що відбувається. Маленьке життя, яке щойно почалося, вже стало товаром. Але їй пощастило – вона залишилася жива. Жінка ж тепер чекає на рішення суду. Їй загрожує до 15 років ув’язнення. За словами слідчих, у січні цього року через недогляд матері дитина отримала серйозні термічні опіки. Малюк почав непритомніти, йому ставало все гірше, але ніхто не поспішав викликати лікарів. Мати та її співмешканець просто спостерігали, як дитина бореться за життя, але нічого не зробили. І він помер. Та навіть після смерті хлопчика вони не виявили жодних людських емоцій. Жодних сліз, жодного розкаяння. Щоб приховати трагедію, чоловік просто поклав тіло до морозильника. Хлопчика шукали. Ніхто не знав, де він. І лише після втручання поліції знайшли його бездиханне тіло серед замороженого м’яса та овочів. Немовби він був не дитиною, а чимось зайвим, непотрібним, що просто треба прибрати з очей. Старшу сестру хлопчика, якій лише на рік більше, терміново госпіталізували. Тепер соціальні служби вирішують її подальшу долю. Матір і її співмешканця заарештували. Суд уже обрав їм запобіжний захід – 60 днів під вартою без права внесення застави. Ці дві історії – не просто новини. Це страшний діагноз, який суспільство саме собі виписало. В одній сім’ї дитину просто продали, немов товар. В іншій – прирекли на смерть, а потім поклали в морозильник. Що робиться в головах цих людей? Чому немовлята стали для них тягарем, який можна або вигідно продати, або позбутися будь-яким способом? У країні, де щодня гинуть діти через війну, ті, хто вижив, усе одно опиняються в небезпеці. Але не через снаряди, а власних батьків.

Their parents are grief-stricken, forced to attend graves instead of making breakfast, taking them to school, or giving them a hug at bedtime. However, there are other children whose lives are cut short not by war, but by the indifference or cruelty of their own parents. In a country that is fighting for survival every day, there are more and more news about children who were not saved, sold, starved, whose small bodies were buried like unwanted garbage.

Kharkiv: the mother valued the child at $20,000

It is hard to imagine, but even in the 21st century, even during war, when every life is priceless, there are those who are ready to trade their own children. In Kharkiv, a 22-year-old woman decided to sell her two-month-old daughter for $20,000. She reported about it National Police of Ukraine.

She gave birth to a girl on December 1, 2024, but instead of taking care of her, after a month she started looking for a buyer. She was not tormented by doubts, no remorse arose. Everything was clearly thought out: she had to get the money and give the child to another person.

However, what the woman thought was an easy way to make money ended up in handcuffs for her. She was detained by law enforcement officers while handing over the baby and receiving the money. As it turned out, the woman already has a son aged 1 year and 10 months, and she and her roommate planned to spend the money received from the sale of the child on a car.

Everything happened so quickly that the child did not even understand what was happening. The little life that has just begun has already become a commodity. But she was lucky – she remained alive. The woman is now waiting for the court’s decision. She faces up to 15 years in prison.

Odesa: the body of a child in a freezer

If the child was saved in Kharkiv, then in Odesa the boy, who was barely a year old, did not get his chance. February 4 press service National Police reported that a one-year-old boy was found dead in a freezer in Odessa, before that he had suffered burns and needed medical assistance.

According to the investigators, in January of this year, due to neglect of the mother, the child received serious thermal burns. The kid began to faint, he was getting worse, but no one was in a hurry to call the doctors. The mother and her roommate simply watched the child struggle for life, but did nothing. And he died.

But even after the boy’s death, they did not show any human emotions. No tears, no remorse. To hide the tragedy, the man simply put the body in the freezer.

They were looking for a boy. No one knew where he was. And only after the intervention of the police did they find his lifeless body among the frozen meat and vegetables. As if he was not a child, but something extra, unnecessary, which simply needs to be removed from the eyes.

The boy’s older sister, who is only a year older, was urgently hospitalized. Now social services are deciding her further fate. The mother and her roommate were arrested. The court has already chosen a preventive measure for them – 60 days in custody without bail.

These two stories are not just news. This is a terrible diagnosis that society has prescribed for itself. In one family, the child was simply sold like a commodity. In another, they were sentenced to death, and then put in a freezer. What is going on in the minds of these people? Why have babies become a burden for them that can either be sold profitably or disposed of in any way? In a country where children die every day due to war, those who survive are still in danger. But not because of shells, but because of their own parents.
