Ukraine and NATO develop innovative approaches to safe evacuation of wounded

The Joint NATO-Ukraine Analysis, Training and Education Center JATEC develops innovative approaches to the safe evacuation of wounded from combat zones. About this reported colonel Valery Vyshnivskyi, director of implementation of JATEC programs, during the conference devoted to the evacuation of the wounded (CASEVAC).
According to him, the enemy purposefully attacks the evacuation teams along with the wounded, which seriously affects the morale of the units:
“Therefore, effective evacuation of the wounded is one of the most difficult aspects of field medicine in conditions of large-scale aggression.” – said Vyshnivskyi.
Modern combat experience reveals many difficulties in interaction, communication and planning of medical measures, which requires updating approaches to evacuation and first aid directly on the battlefield. More than 230 representatives from 18 NATO countries and partner states took part in the conference, which took place in a mixed format — online and live.
During the opening of the forum, JATEC commander Brigadier General Wojciech Ozga emphasized:
“During the JATEC conference, the unique combat experience of Ukraine was considered, cooperation with NATO was improved to strengthen the medical capabilities of the Alliance and Ukraine.”
The experts discussed the possibilities of integrating civil-military planning, introducing new technologies — including the use of drones, telemedicine and artificial intelligence — and improving training programs to increase the effectiveness of the CASEVAC system.
