Ukraine has changed the procedure for paying and delivering pensions and cash benefits

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has made changes to the Procedure for the payment and delivery of pensions and cash assistance based on the actual place of residence of recipients within Ukraine by organizations that carry out their payment and delivery. About this it is said in Government Resolution No. 726.

The document states that a new column — “Date of birth (day, month, year) of the recipient of a pension or financial aid” has been added to the payment information for the payment of pensions and benefits according to the lists.

According to the Pension Fund, as of May 2025, there were 10 million 333 thousand pensioners in Ukraine. Of them, 8 million 439.2 thousand people received pensions through bank accounts. The rest — 1 million 893.8 thousand — used the services of “Ukrposhta” to receive payments.

Each pensioner has the right to independently choose the method of receiving funds, including through any authorized bank. The current list of such banks is available on the website of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.

Also, the government has also updated the Procedure for paying pensions and cash benefits through current bank accounts. According to the document, in the event that an authorized bank carries out physical identification of a person, the bank is obliged to notify the Pension Fund of Ukraine of the date it was carried out by sending an electronic message. The transfer of information is carried out in the presence of relevant data, but not more often than once a day, in accordance with the established exchange protocol between the bank and the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
