The Council adopted a moratorium on the bankruptcy of state critical infrastructure facilities

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted draft law No. 8316, which establishes a moratorium on the bankruptcy of state-owned critical infrastructure facilities, which will be in effect during martial law and for another two years after its end.

 

This is the first deputy head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Tax and Customs Policy, People’s Deputy from the “Golos” faction Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported in Telegram.

The Council adopted (draft law) No. 8316 on a moratorium on the bankruptcy of state-owned critical infrastructure facilities during martial law + 2 years. “For” in total only 227“, he noted.

Key facts:

  • Disputes regarding state ownership of critical infrastructure facilities and their bankruptcy will not be considered by the courts during the moratorium.
  • The bill was registered in December 2022, passed in the first reading in March 2023 and sent for a second reading in August.
  •  Critical infrastructure facilities play a key role in ensuring energy supply, information services, transport, chemical industry and other vital areas.
  • In Ukraine, there is a register of critical infrastructure, which includes objects of various categories of importance. The damage caused to the infrastructure of Ukraine during the war reached significant amounts, which emphasizes the importance of protecting these objects.
