Ukraine is creating a reliable system of protection against Russian drones

The Ukrainian company Kvertus, which is part of NAUDI and specializes in radio-electronic intelligence (EIR) and electronic warfare (ERW) systems, implements the Atlas project. Its goal is to create a large-scale system of protection against enemy drones along the front line and in the surrounding areas, with a length of more than 1,300 km. About this informs Defence Express.
This project integrates several Kvertus developments that are already successfully used on the battlefield. In particular, this is the Azimuth UAV detection and direction finding station and the Mirage EW system. Each complex provides 25-50 km of protected space along the battle line, and in general, “Atlas” foresees the deployment of numerous such systems to ensure reliable protection of the Ukrainian military.
The developers emphasize that the new ecosystem significantly expands the capabilities of defense. It provides a greater radius of action, more effective suppression of enemy drones, remains invisible to enemy PEP means, has a longer operating time and does not contain Chinese or other foreign technologies. In addition, the system is protected from hacking, even if it falls into the hands of the enemy. The total cost of the project is estimated at 5.2 billion hryvnias.
“The important thing is that all of this can be controlled remotely. It doesn’t matter if it’s one device, five, 500 or 2,500 devices – it can all be combined into one network using our server and can be controlled both the entire battle line and and separate areas, adding access for commanders of different levels and providing access to the situational awareness map.” – said Yaroslav Filimonov, director and co-owner of the company.
