Ukraine partially restores reservations from mobilisation

In Ukraine, reservations from mobilization for employees of some critical infrastructure facilities have been partially restored. The Cabinet of Ministers approved on October 25 decision, according to which employees who received the status of reserved until May 31, 2024, will be able to extend their reservation for a similar period without any obstacles. This is stated on the official website of the government.
The Cabinet of Ministers explained that the decision is aimed at ensuring the stable operation of critically important sectors of the economy, in particular the defense industry. It was also announced that the audit of enterprises recognized as critical over the past four months would be carried out. The inspection will last until November 15.
“The reason for the audit is an abnormal increase in the number of critical enterprises and the number of booked employees. This is done in the interests of strengthening the state’s defense capabilities and to prevent abuses“, the government noted.
The mass media reported that President Volodymyr Zelenskyi was outraged by the information about the booking of 1.5 million conscripts in critical infrastructure enterprises. It is because of this that the government decided to temporarily stop the provision of new armor and conduct an audit.
According to Fedor Venislavskyi, a member of the parliamentary committee on national security, the total number of people booked may be inaccurate and biased, since after the adoption of the new law on mobilization, many citizens have the opportunity to issue reservations instead of the right to a postponement.
