Ukraine ranked 29th among 99 countries in the new version of the global passport index

In the new version of the global passport index, published quarterly by the Henley & Partners company, the Ukrainian foreign passport took 29th place among 99 countries of the world. Currently, citizens of Ukraine can travel without visas to 147 countries. About this reported on the Henley & Partners website.

Citizens of Grenada, a Caribbean island state that shares one position in the ranking with Ukraine, have the same number of visa-free destinations. The first place in the index was taken by the passport of Singapore — its holders have the opportunity to enter 193 countries out of 227 without visas. The second place was shared by Japan and South Korea, which have visa-free access to 190 countries.

The third position was shared by seven countries of the European Union, in particular France, Italy and Germany — their passports open the door to 189 countries. They are followed by Austria, Portugal, Sweden, Belgium, Norway, Luxembourg and the Netherlands — citizens of these countries can travel without visas to 188 countries of the world. In fifth place were Greece, Switzerland and New Zealand, whose passports give the right to visa-free entry to 187 countries. The United States ranks tenth in the index along with Iceland and Lithuania.

The lowest level of mobility is recorded in Afghanistan – the passport of this country allows visa-free travel to only 25 countries, which creates a gap of 168 positions with the passport of Singapore, which currently leads the ranking.

The Henley Index is updated regularly based on analysis of visa requirements in 227 countries and territories. The company creates this analytics in collaboration with the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the world’s leading source of travel data.
