Ukraine was in the last place in Europe in terms of average IQ. The IQ indicator of Ukrainians is 95.55 points, which is 1.29 points more than in the previous year. About this it is said in the rating on the International IQ Test portal.
China, Iran, South Korea, Japan and Singapore made the top five of the rating. Russia with an average IQ of 103.31 points took the sixth position, and Belarus with an indicator of 101.58 points was in 16th place.
The study is based on the analysis of data from more than 1.39 million people from all over the world who took the test on this portal in 2024. In most of the countries covered by the study, average IQ scores remained almost unchanged compared to last year. At the same time, some states were not included in the rating due to insufficient data.
The average IQ in the world is highest in East Asian countries. Europe, West Asia, Oceania, North America and North Africa show average scores, while Central and South Africa and Latin America have lower IQs.
The average IQ in the world is 100 points. This indicator is influenced by such factors as the prevalence of infectious diseases, eating habits, intellectual activity and genetics. For example, a healthy diet and intellectual pursuits, such as playing chess or knowing several languages, have a positive effect on IQ. Genetic factors, according to research, can determine from 50 to 80% of intellectual abilities.
“In summary, countries with good health care systems that promote healthy eating habits and encourage their citizens to engage in activities that stimulate intellectual development tend to have higher average population IQs,” – noted the researchers.
