The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, emphasized that Ukraine has no intention of capitulating to Russia or agreeing to a freeze on the war. That’s what he’s about stated during an online conversation with readers of the French publication Le Parisien.
The President emphasized that Ukraine has been fighting for its sovereignty and independence for many years, and is not ready to give up these principles for the sake of external political compromises.
“Trump knows about my desire not to rush to the detriment of Ukraine. The country has been fighting for its sovereignty for a long time. No matter how many presidents or prime ministers seek to declare an end to the war, we will not give up or give up our independence. The danger is to say: we will freeze the war and come to an agreement with the Russians.” – noted Zelensky.
At the same time, he noted that US President-elect Donald Trump seeks to find ways to resolve this conflict as soon as possible, but currently does not have access to the full amount of information.
“Now Trump is not yet in the White House, so he does not have access to all the information — intelligence, the Pentagon, diplomatic channels, etc. When he has such access, we will be able to speak on the same level, possessing the same amount of information.”, — explained Zelensky.
