The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is developing a new social assistance mechanism for financial support of vulnerable categories of Ukrainians. Its size is 4,500 hryvnias.
About innovations stated in the Cabinet of Ministers.
The officials noted that the new program will allow to support the normal standard of living of the most socially vulnerable sections of the population against the backdrop of economic challenges and rising cost of living.
The Ministry of Social Policy has already prepared a draft resolution and is currently awaiting the government’s consideration.
“The goal of the new initiative is to provide additional financial support to those who need it most in the face of economic challenges,” – specified in the draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers.
In advance, monthly payments are provided for such categories of Ukrainians as:
- large families;
- persons with disabilities, who often face increased costs for treatment and care;
- lonely pensioners who have no one to take care of them;
- internally displaced persons;
- other persons in need of additional financial support.
It is planned that the assistance will be assigned taking into account the applicant’s financial situation: he must not own real estate or make large purchases during the year before applying for the payment.
It is also necessary to be a taxpayer in Ukraine.
The size of the payment will depend on the number of family members and their social status.
