The Supervisory Board of NEC “Ukrenergo” has appointed Oleksiy Brekht as acting chairman of the company’s board. Brecht has been working at Ukrenergo for over 23 years, holding key positions in the energy sector. About this informs official Ukrenergo Telegram channel.
Brecht noted that the main task for the company today is to prepare for the heating season and restore facilities damaged by enemy shelling. Ensuring the reliable operation of the operator as part of the European ENTSO-E network also remains among the priorities.
“Ukrenergo” will focus its efforts on attracting international assistance to restore the high-voltage network and strengthen its stability, as well as on further deepening integration into the European energy space.
What is known about Alexei Brecht
Oleksiy Brecht has 23 years of experience at Ukrenergo and more than 25 years in the energy sector in general. His career began in 1999 at the Kyiv Hydroelectric Power Station (GAES).
Subsequently, he headed the “Ukrenergo” division — “Scientific and Design Center for the Development of UES of Ukraine”. In the period from 2011 to 2016, Brecht worked on issues of future development, European integration and technical policy of the company.
On June 22, 2022, he was appointed a member of the board, where he coordinated the operation and development of the network, the development of plans for the development of the transmission system, as well as the activities of the separate division “Construction and repair”.
