Ukroboronprom signed a memorandum of cooperation with Airbus

Ukroboronprom (JSC “Ukrainian Defense Industry”) signed a memorandum of cooperation with the European aircraft giant Airbus. About this reported the press service of the state concern on June 23 after the end of the international air show in Le Bourget.

The conclusion of the tripartite agreement was the first step towards the launch of a maintenance and repair system for Airbus aviation equipment operated in Ukraine. The agreements provide for the training of Ukrainian specialists, who will later receive the status of instructors for working with Airbus aviation systems. As part of the cooperation, the delegation of Airbus plans to visit Ukraine to form training groups and transfer relevant technical documentation.

“Among the world’s high-tech companies, trust in our defense industry, in particular in Ukroboronprom and its enterprises, is increasing. This proves that we have chosen the right path for development and international cooperation. I am sure that we will have new promising partnerships with foreign colleagues both in the field of aviation and in other areas of the Company’s work.”, – noted the general director of Ukroboronprom Oleg Gulyak.

The company noted that cooperation with Airbus could be the first step towards wider cooperation with European partners in the field of aviation and related technologies.

Although Airbus is mostly associated with the production of civil aircraft, the company has a strong segment in military aviation. In particular, it manufactures Eurofighter Typhoon fighters, A400M Atlas military transport aircraft, C295 light transport aircraft, A330 MRTT refueling aircraft, and also works on the Eurodrone combat drone.
