Zelenskyi about a possible truce: it should be a fair, not a quick decision

Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that it is unlikely to achieve a quick truce, because Ukraine will only agree to fair terms for the end of the war. The president emphasized this during an interview with the French news agency AFP.

Zelensky calls the ban on the use of long-range weapons provided by Ukraine’s partners to attack Russian territory the greatest advantage of the enemy at the current stage of the war.

The Global Peace Summit, which will be held this summer, could be a significant step forward in terms of starting negotiations. Ukraine expects that the participants of the summit will jointly draw up an action plan on three points – guaranteeing free navigation, to ensure food security of the whole world. The second item is ensuring nuclear and energy security. These are actions that will allow to stop the attacks on the critical infrastructure of Ukraine. The third emphasis is the return of Ukrainian children illegally taken to the Russian Federation and the exchange of captives.

“If we come out of the Summit with these three steps, with the majority of countries agreeing to these positions, it will mean that Russia will not block them from now on, but we will develop a step-by-step, very detailed plan with certain countries at the technical level. Ukraine is ready for dialogue with all states that support its territorial integrity,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy explained.
