“Ukrspirt” stopped production and accumulated multi-million debts

The state-owned enterprise “Ukrspirt”, the largest producer of alcohol in Ukraine, has completely stopped production since April 2023. According to the results of the financial audit of the State Audit Service, the company has multi-million overdue debts to the state budget and other creditors.
This was announced by State Audit Service.
The reason for this situation was, in particular, delays in the privatization of enterprises that are part of “Ukrspirt” and inefficient management decisions of the former management. The total amount of detected deficiencies and violations during the use of the property and funds of enterprises is more than 330 million hryvnias.
In addition, the failure of “Ukrspirt” to fulfill its obligations to the budget and counterparties may lead to additional costs due to the payment of fines and court decisions in the total amount of over 37 million hryvnias.
On the other hand, as of April 1, 2024, 8 enterprises that are part of “Ukrspirt” remain non-privatized, as a result of which the enterprise did not receive UAH 95.7 million of planned revenues from privatization.
