US Congressmen Banned from Using DeepSeek

US congressmen were banned from using and installing the Chinese chatbot DeepSeek on official phones and other devices. A corresponding letter was sent to the departments of the House of Representatives of the US Congress, informs Axios.
“DeepSeek is currently pending in the US House of Representatives and is not currently approved for official use,” – says the message.
Congress says attackers are already using DeepSeek to deliver malware and infect devices.
Google Play previously warned that the app may share certain types of user data with third parties. The developers claim to collect personal information, including names, files, documents, photos and videos, necessary to process requests. All this information is stored on servers in China.
