Israeli warplanes launched strikes on Syria
Israel has carried out three airstrikes in the Syrian capital, Damascus, targeting a security complex and a government research center believed to be used by Iran to develop missiles. About this informs Reuters.
According to the report, the strikes significantly damaged the headquarters of the Syrian customs, as well as buildings near the offices of military intelligence in the security complex of Damascus. Dozens of Israeli Air Force planes took part in the raid.
The research center was also damaged. Among the facilities affected were infrastructure used to store sensitive military data, equipment and components for guided missiles.
On the same day, Israel struck at least seven targets in southwestern Syria, including the Halhala airbase north of the town of Sweida, where Syrian troops had been withdrawn the night before, the sources said. The Syrian army had a large stockpile of missiles, anti-aircraft defenses and ammunition there, which were hit by airstrikes.
