US Senate confirms Trump’s matchmaker as ambassador to France

The US Senate has officially approved businessman Charles Kushner as ambassador to France. He is President Donald Trump’s matchmaker, informsPolitician.
The appointment was supported by 51 senators, 45 voted against. New Jersey Senator Cory Booker was the only Democrat to express support. One Republican, Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski, voted against it.
Charles Kushner is an American entrepreneur and founder of Kushner Companies, specializing in real estate. He is the father of Jared Kushner, the husband of Ivanka Trump, the eldest daughter of the former president.
Despite the fact that Charles did not hold public positions, his influence through his son was noticeable: Jared, working as an adviser in the White House, had access to important areas, including international politics, which indirectly involved his father in the political environment. Donald Trump announced his choice of Kushner for the post of US ambassador to France in early December 2024.
In 2018, Jared Kushner was declassified. In addition, he appeared in special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into possible Russian interference in the 2016 US presidential election and alleged ties between Trump campaign representatives and Russian officials.
