The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, announced a constructive dialogue with the future President of the United States, Donald Trump, during which the Ukrainian side had the opportunity to explain in detail its vision of peace. IN interview Zelensky emphasized at the public event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Ukrainian Radio that Trump heard Ukraine’s position and did not express any objections.
When asked about a possible demand from Trump to start negotiations with Russia, Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine is an independent state, and during the war it has already proven that it is not affected by coercive ultimatums from other states.
“The rhetoric of “Sit and listen” does not work with us” – emphasized the president.
Zelenskyi also noted that the approach of the Trump administration will contribute to a faster end to the war.
“A just peace is very important to us. Our losses must not be sacrificed for injustice. Although the exact date of the end of the war is difficult to predict, with the approach of the new White House team, it will happen sooner“, he added.
