Zelensky announced the production of Ukrainian weapons underground

Ukraine plans to start the production of weapons and ammunition in underground complexes, which will be an important step to reduce dependence on international supplies. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyi during a speech at the Ambrozetti International Economic Forum in Italy.
“We will start producing weapons underground so that Ukrainian soldiers can defend themselves even as supplies from our partners are delayed. And we will gradually move this war back to Russia so that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin will eventually feel the pressure to seek only one thing – peace.”, – said the president.
On September 6, Volodymyr Zelenskyi spoke at another meeting in the Ramstein format, where he emphasized the importance of providing Ukraine with long-range weapons. The President noted that this potential is critically necessary not only for the liberation of the occupied territories of Ukraine, including Crimea, but also for the possibility of hitting military targets on the territory of Russia itself.
According to him, the Armed Forces should be able to carry out long-range strikes in order to put pressure on Russia, forcing it to think seriously about finding peaceful solutions.
It is worth noting that back in May, the Spanish publication El Mundo reported that Ukraine was actively working on the creation of several underground factories for the production of weapons. Such a decision is dictated by the need to protect critical defense facilities from the constant threat of Russian missile and air strikes.
According to reports, the underground factories will ensure the continuous production of weapons and ammunition, which will allow Ukraine to reduce its dependence on external suppliers and ensure its own needs in military equipment for a long period.
Personnel who will be involved in the work at these facilities undergo a strict check. Careful selection of personnel and multi-level control are aimed at preventing the possible infiltration of Russian agents or saboteurs into production sites. This is an important component of protecting the defense industry, as any information leak can significantly harm Ukraine’s military efforts.
