Zelensky instructed to present the draft law on NABU and SAPO to international partners

Ukraine intends to present a draft law on ensuring the independence of anti-corruption bodies to international partners to attract foreign experts. The corresponding mandate gave President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi.

According to him, the text of the document was previously discussed with international partners, representatives of law enforcement agencies, as well as with the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.

“There are many proposals from our partners to involve European experts: Great Britain, Germany, the European Union. I instructed our government officials to present the draft law to all our partners and to attract all the necessary expert capabilities.” – said Zelenskyi.

He emphasized that the draft law proposed by him contains full guarantees of the independence of anti-corruption institutions and real verification mechanisms that should exclude any possible Russian interference. Everyone who has access to state secrets must pass polygraph tests, and regularly. This applies not only to employees of NABU and SAP, but also to employees of the State Security Bureau and the National Police. The draft also includes provisions to prevent abuse.

“It is important that Ukrainians react so decently to all events. Ukraine is people who care. I thank everyone who fights for the sake of our country, who works for the sake of Ukraine.”– summed up the president.
