Zelenskyy announced his readiness to sit down at the negotiating table with Putin

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, declared his readiness for negotiations with Volodymyr Putin. That’s what he’s about reported in an interview with British journalist Piers Morgan.

The president emphasized that he perceives Vladimir Putin as an enemy, but noted that he is ready for negotiations if it helps to end the war:

“If this is the only scheme through which we can bring peace to Ukrainians and not lose people, of course we will go for it. Regardless of how I feel about him. I will not be kind to him. I consider him an enemy. And I think he also considers me an enemy.”

In addition, Zelensky expressed his belief that Ukraine has already reached readiness to move to a diplomatic settlement:

“If people believe that we should switch to the diplomatic path, and I believe that we are ready, then we will talk with Putin.”

He admitted that at the moment Ukraine is not in a position to return all its territories and cannot risk millions of lives for a result that may turn out to be unattainable.
