Zelenskyy explained who can follow the “truce” in the Black Sea

After reaching an agreement between Ukraine, Russia and the USA on the ceasefire in the Black Sea, control over its observance can be carried out, in particular, by representatives of the countries of the Black Sea region. About it on March 28  stated Volodymyr Zelenskyi during a briefing for journalists.

According to Zelenskyi, effective monitoring is necessary for the implementation of the ceasefire regime, because “without monitoring, there is nothing to say.” He noted that at the negotiations in Saudi Arabia, the issue of who would supervise compliance with the agreements was discussed, and he cited Turkey as an example.

“The United States, the British, and the French can monitor this “ceasefire”, the president noted.

He also added that countries located on the Black Sea coast, such as Romania and Bulgaria, could also join this process, as they are familiar with the region and have already participated in the Black Sea demining coalition.

We will remind that on March 27, Bulgaria took the initiative to create a multinational center for the safety of shipping in the western part of the Black Sea. Bulgarian Prime Minister Rosen Zhelezyakov said that the coordination center will provide constant surveillance and early detection of possible threats and hostile actions in the region.

“The aim is to establish guidelines for shipping and monitor – from the air and from the water – both critical infrastructure and all potential hostile actions in the Black Sea,” Zhelezyakov explained.
