Ukraine and the United States of America signed a memorandum certifying the intention to finalize and conclude an agreement beneficial to both peoples. About this informs Yulia Svyridenko, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy «Today, we took a step toward a joint Economic Partnership Agreement with the United States. Ukraine and the United States of America signed a memorandum that certifies the constructive joint work of our teams and the intention to finalize and conclude an agreement that will be beneficial to both our peoples. We are preparing the creation of the Investment Fund for the Reconstruction of Ukraine. The corresponding agreement will open opportunities for significant investments, modernization of infrastructure and mutually beneficial partnership between Ukraine and the United States — it is with this goal that the teams are working on the document.» — says the message. Svyridenko explained that the document confirms «the desire of the American people to invest together with the Ukrainian people in a free, sovereign and safe Ukraine.» The next steps will be the finalization of the text of the agreement, its signing and ratification by both parliaments. At the same time, the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, announced that the signing of the document is possible as early as next week. «Well, we have a mineral deal that I think is going to be signed next Thursday. And I’m assuming they’re going to honor the deal, so we’ll see. But we’ve agreed on that.» — said Trump.

«Сегодня шагнули к совместному с США Соглашению об экономическом партнерстве. Украина и Соединенные Штаты Америки подписали меморандум, подтверждающий конструктивную совместную работу наших команд и намерение финализировать и заключить соглашение, которое будет выгодно обоим нашим народам.
Готовим создание Фонда инвестиций в восстановление Украины. Соответствующее соглашение будет открывать возможности для значительных инвестиций, модернизации инфраструктуры и взаимовыгодного партнерства Украины и Соединенных Штатов – именно с этой целью команды работают над документом», — говорится в сообщении.
Свириденко пояснила, что документ подтверждает «стремление американского народа инвестировать вместе с украинским народом в свободную, суверенную и безопасную Украину». Следующими шагами станут финализация текста соглашения, его подписание и ратификация двумя парламентами.
В то же время Президент Соединенных Штатов Америки Дональд Трамп сообщил, что подписание документа возможно уже на следующей неделе.
«Что ж, у нас есть соглашение о полезных ископаемых, которое, я думаю, будет подписано в следующий четверг. И я предполагаю, что они выполнят соглашение, поэтому увидим. Но мы договорились об этом», – отметил Трамп.
