10% growth: what happens to the revenues of restaurants and hotels in Ukraine during the war

28.22 billion hryvnias – this is exactly the amount of total income shown by the leaders of the Ukrainian hospitality market according to the results of 2024. Index data The opendatabase show: the hotel and restaurant business sector continued to recover despite the martial law and economic instability, registering a 10% increase in revenues compared to the previous year.

The dozen companies that provided the main growth of the market included six restaurant chains, two suppliers of prepared meals and two hotel operators. However, even among the leaders, according to the results of the year, only six companies were able to end the period with a profit.

“McDonald’s Ukraine” remains the undisputed leader, which showed an increase in revenue by almost a third – up to UAH 16.84 billion. The network’s profit also increased by 24% and reached UAH 1.59 billion. The company notes that the expansion of the network to 23 new restaurants and investments of more than UAH 3.2 billion were the key factors of this result. In 2024, the chain paid more than UAH 2.6 billion in taxes, which made it the largest payer in the field of hospitality.

The second place in the list was taken by the company “Contrakt Prodrezerv 5”, which grew by 1.5 times and reached UAH 4.44 billion in revenue. Its profit increased by 1.6 times, which ensured the company the status of one of the main market newcomers.

The third position was taken by the company “Opercom”, which manages the “Puzata Khata” network. Its income increased 1.5 times to UAH 1.47 billion, but the financial year ended with a loss of UAH 37.4 million.

The companies “Atomservice” and “Dominos Pizza Ukraine” close the list of leaders. “Atomservice” experienced a decrease in revenue almost 7 times, and “Dominos” was able to increase revenue by 1.5 times, although it remained unprofitable.
