Oleksiy Chernyshova was the Minister of National Unity imported the deposit in full is 120 million hryvnias. The decision on its amount was made by the High Anti-Corruption Court on June 27 within the scope of the case regarding the abuse of official position.
Chernyshova is accused of abuse of official powers and obtaining an illegal benefit in a particularly large amount during her tenure as Minister of Community and Territorial Development in 2020-2022. Bail in the amount of 120 million hryvnias was set for him on June 27. On July 1, the minister’s lawyer stated that the money has not yet been paid and an appeal will be filed against the court’s decision.
Oleksiy Chernyshov himself previously noted that the bail amount is extremely difficult for him:
“My personal accounts, as well as my family’s accounts, are frozen and I cannot use them to make this bail. So I am limited in these actions. I am raising funds, I am gathering opportunities, I am still in the process. But I plan to comply with the court orders that have been made.”
“Schemes” (Radio Liberty) found out, that the deposit for the Minister of National Unity Oleksiy Chernyshov was made in stages on different days:
- part of the funds — 10 million hryvnias, and later another 2,668 hryvnias — was contributed by his wife;
- 66 million hryvnias came from a private company registered in April this year, which specializes in the trade of auto parts;
- UAH 44 million was contributed by the manager of the DIM group of companies, whose co-owners include developer Oleksandr Nasikovsky and businessman and investor Maksym Krippa.
July 2 was the last day when bail could be posted — otherwise NABU would have applied for a change of preventive measure to detention. On the same day, the High Anti-Corruption Court decided not to remove Oleksiy Chernyshov from the post of Minister of National Unity.
