The labor market will come out of the shadows: Shmygal about the new strategy “Fight or work”

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced the introduction of the “Fight or Work” principle, aimed at the detinization of the labor market in Ukraine. This approach involves a set of measures that will help bring a significant part of the economy out of the shadows and provide additional revenues to the budget.

“For two and a half years, we managed to attract almost $100 billion from international partners. We are grateful for this support, which allowed us to fulfill all social obligations to Ukrainians in a timely manner.”, – stated Shmygal during the “Ukraine 2024. Independence” forum in Kyiv.

The Prime Minister emphasized that there is currently an urgent need to attract additional funds to the budget. In particular, the government plans to increase domestic borrowing, increase income taxes for banks, expand the base of the military levy and increase its rates for certain categories of taxpayers.

“The introduction of the principle of ‘Fight or work’ will be a key step towards creating new jobs, increasing average salaries in various sectors of the economy and significantly replenishing the budget”Shmyhal added.
