In Bukovina, the police exposed an organized group that was engaged in the production and sale of low-quality fuel, the total value of which is estimated at 20 million hryvnias. About this reported press service of the National Police on November 20.
In order to increase the volume of fuel and increase profits, criminals added various impurities to A-95 gasoline, in particular gas condensate. The fake was sold through a network of gas stations in Chernivtsi, Ivano-Frankivsk and Khmelnytskyi regions.
Law enforcement officers seized 140 tons of low-quality fuel, gasoline trucks and documents confirming illegal activity. The total value of the seized is 20 million hryvnias.
The police established sales channels, methods of fuel production and places of its storage. The perpetrators sold the counterfeit to entrepreneurs for cash, who then sold it as a quality product through gas stations.
To hide their activities, criminals entered false data into financial statements, creating the appearance of legitimate activities. The examination established that the manufactured fuel does not meet state quality standards. It is close to the prohibited in Ukraine ecological standards Euro 3 and Euro 4, which do not meet the legal norms.
