In 2025, the export of Ukrainian IT services decreased sharply

In 2025, the volume of exports of Ukrainian IT services decreased by 20.7% to only $489 million, the lowest figure since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. For comparison, last year this indicator was $508 million, and in 2023 – $528 million. About this informs Lviv IT Cluster.

In January of this year, the total export revenue from all services of Ukraine amounted to $1.21 billion, which is $423 million (or 25.8%) less than in December 2024. The main reason for this decrease was the cessation of transit of Russian gas. The share of computer services in the total export of services in January 2025 was 41.1%.

“This January has been the worst since the full-scale invasion began. Last year, its indicator was $508 million, and in 2023 – 528. The overall dynamics in 2024 remained weaker than in 2023. And, according to our forecasts, the situation will not get better this year. After all, the challenges of a full-scale invasion continue to have a negative impact on the tech industry.

If the war continues, then this year all the risks associated with it will only deepen. At the same time, the IT sector continues to be one of the largest exporters of services in Ukraine and provides significant foreign currency income to the economy”, — noted Stepan Veselovskyi, CEO of the Lviv IT Cluster.
