“24 hours turned into a period of three to six months”: the president of Finland on Trump’s promises

The President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, during a discussion at the forum in Davos, emphasized that the basis of the settlement of the situation in Ukraine is the observance of its independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity. He emphasized that achieving peace is impossible without the active participation of Ukraine and Europe itself, informs edition of Seskenoviny.
“There are three key principles when we talk about any settlement in Ukraine. The first is independence. The second is sovereignty. And the third is territorial integrity. In my opinion, Ukraine must preserve and continue its independence. It must preserve its own sovereignty, other in other words, it has the right to choose whether it wants to join NATO or the European Union.
And, of course, territorial integrity is a key element of international law. I don’t think there can be peace in Ukraine without Ukraine, and I don’t think there can be peace in Ukraine without Europe.”, – emphasized Stubb.
He also emphasized that it will not be easy to end the war in Ukraine.
“We’ll see what President Trump and General Kellogg come up with. The 24 hours to the end of the war in Ukraine has turned into a period of three to six months. I think that’s a window of opportunity where, as we’ll see, a lot of different things can happenStubb added.
We will remind that the World Economic Forum is held in Davos, which brings together the world’s leading politicians and business representatives. During the event, participants discuss the most pressing challenges of global development and ways to overcome them.
