75% of Ukrainians do not plan to return home from the Czech Republic: research results

Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, millions of Ukrainians have been forced to seek refuge in various countries around the world. Great Britain became one of the countries that provided Ukrainians with a safe stay, supported humanitarian initiatives and created conditions for obtaining temporary protection. However, despite the favorable conditions, many Ukrainians in Britain encountered difficulties related to the registration and updating of documents.
For many Ukrainians who temporarily or permanently live in the United Kingdom, the problem of quickly issuing passports, replacing expired documents or restoring lost ones has become a serious obstacle to a normal life abroad. Due to the limited number of consular services, frequent trips to other cities or even countries to obtain documents have become a significant challenge.
With this in mind, the Ukrainian authorities have started work on the creation of an accessible passport service for Ukrainians in Great Britain, which will simplify the process of issuing documents and provide comfort to citizens outside their home country.
Launch of passport service in Great Britain
Ambassador of Ukraine to Great Britain and former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhnyi reported about active work on launching a passport service for Ukrainians in the United Kingdom. He wrote about this on his official Telegram channel.
“We are actively working on the launch of a passport service in Great Britain so that Ukrainians can quickly issue passports and other documents. This is what we discussed today with the representative of Dokument SE Oksana Kozak.
What can I report at this point?
We are doing everything to get the passport service up and running as soon as possible. We discussed the idea of hiring Ukrainians who have experience in working with documents and currently live in Great Britain in this service.
We will announce all the details later.” – wrote Zaluzhnyi in his Telegram channel.
Why is this important?
This service should simplify the life of Ukrainian citizens in Britain and provide them with the opportunity to quickly obtain the necessary documents without the need to travel to other countries or remote regions.
The initiative also provides for the creation of new opportunities for attracting Ukrainian specialists who can help in providing quality services to compatriots. It is important that the process of filing documents becomes as simple, fast and accessible as possible.
Launching a passport service in Great Britain will be an important step in supporting the Ukrainian community abroad. A large number of refugees who have been granted temporary protection face the need to renew their documents, obtain new passports or complete other important documents in order to ensure legal stay and access to social services in the UK.
In addition, the new service will make it possible to more quickly resolve issues related to the registration of children’s documents, the provision of consular services and the implementation of procedures related to the confirmation of citizenship.
According to Zaluzhnyi, the next stage will be the resolution of organizational issues related to the opening of the service center, provision of equipment, training of personnel and implementation of an effective system of service to citizens. The ambassador assured that the specific dates of the launch will be announced after all technical and logistical details have been agreed upon.
He also noted that the Ukrainian authorities strive to help every citizen living abroad as effectively as possible to ensure their rights and provide access to high-quality public services.
