A court session has been scheduled in the case of the Titanium Institute: what is known about the person involved

The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court scheduled a hearing for October 7 in the case of US citizen Vladimir S. Moxon, who is accused of involvement in the embezzlement of $1.26 million from the State Research and Design Institute of Titanium in 2014. The relevant decision was adopted by the court on August 19.

“The preliminary court hearing in the criminal proceedings against the accused Moxon, who is suspected of committing criminal offenses under Part 5 of Article 27 and Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, will be held on October 7, 2024 at 09:00 in the premises of the High Anti-Corruption Court”, the decision states.

It will be recalled that earlier the court found guilty the former first deputy general director of the Titanium Institute Andrii Rachkov, who was sentenced to 10 years in prison with the deprivation of the right to hold office for three years and the confiscation of all his property.

In addition, the court satisfied the civil claim and ordered Rachkov to pay 10 million hryvnias to the Titanium Institute. The appeals chamber of the VAKS upheld the verdict, but the Supreme Court ordered a retrial of the case.

According to the investigation, Rachkov, abusing his official position and acting in collusion with the American Moxon, caused damage to the Titanium Institute in the amount of 1.258 million dollars. The investigation established that in the period 2012-2013, the official ensured that the institute transferred significant funds to a foreign company from the British Virgin Islands for services that were not actually provided.
