A European regulation has been introduced in Ukraine to improve mobile communications

The National Commission for Electronic Communications (NCEC) has approved the procedure for deploying low-power base stations. This makes it possible to implement the European regulation on “Small cells” in Ukraine and to significantly improve mobile communications, informs NKEK press office.
“For subscribers, this will mean improved access to the mobile operator’s network where it was limited due to insufficient network capacity or a weak signal, and an improvement in the quality of the services received,” – the message says.
As NKEK explained, low-power base stations are low-power radio equipment designed to cover a limited area. It can be installed both indoors and outdoors.
“Small cells provide high-quality, secure indoor and outdoor cellular coverage, complementing the carrier network to improve coverage, add targeted capacity, and support new services and user interactions.” – noted in the commission.
According to NKEK, low-power base stations can be used in various scenarios – in business parks, office and shopping centers, passenger terminals, for the deployment of private 4G and 5G networks, as well as to ensure sufficient network capacity in densely populated areas of cities.
