A law that updates the National Confidential Communications System has entered into force

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi signed draft law No. 10273, which modernizes the National System of Confidential Communication (NSC) and brings it into line with the standards of the European Union.
The law introduces a number of key changes to the functioning of the NSKZ. In particular, the composition of the system has been updated: the concept of operator and users has been introduced, which clarifies the roles and responsibilities within it. A secure gateway for interdepartmental information exchange with limited access has been created, which will allow for reliable data exchange between government structures.
The organizational and technical structure of the system has also been improved, which will significantly increase the level of information protection. In addition, modern terminology has been adapted to European standards: the term “National Telecommunication Network” has been replaced by “National Electronic Communication Network”.
The purpose of the law is to create a reliable infrastructure for the protection of state information, to ensure effective data exchange between authorities, senior management and international partners, which is especially relevant in wartime conditions.
“This law meets modern challenges in the field of information protection. Thanks to the changes, we will be able to implement modern multimedia services in special electronic communication networks”, – noted the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine.
