Corruption whistleblower Shevchenko paid UAH 13.3 million in reward

Yevgeny Shevchenko, who exposed the “record bribe” of ex-Minister of Ecology Mykola Zlochevskyi, received a reward of 13.3 million hryvnias from the state. That’s what he’s about reported on your Facebook page.

“In 2020, I exposed a bribe offer in the amount of 6 million dollars in cash. A few years later, the High Anti-Corruption Court completed the case and made a decision, according to which the accused received their sentences, and I received the right to a reward in the amount of 13.3 million hryvnias, which the state finally paid! So the law on compensation for whistleblowers works and now I am not a “torpedo”, but a successful businessman”, – he wrote.

Shevchenko also noted that the received funds have already been directed to the development of his projects related to the production and supply to the military of electronic warfare systems (EW) and drones, as well as to the support of scientific research in the field of the defense industry.

Yevgeny Shevchenko called on future corruption whistleblowers to be courageous and cooperate with NABU, adding that the maximum reward for a whistleblower can reach 500,000 dollars, so you can become a millionaire for exposing several top corruptors.

We will remind, on October 4, 2024, for the first time in the history of Ukraine, a corruption whistleblower received a reward. He was an active serviceman who, at the time of the disclosure, worked as a department director in the Ministry of Defense. After court vicissitudes, he managed to obtain payment through an appeal.

According to the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, in 2021 this serviceman reported to NABU about an attempt to bribe him in the amount of 24 million hryvnias for actions in favor of a certain enterprise as part of an internal audit of a state contract.
