A letter with a summons is no different from an ordinary envelope: the head of “Ukrposhta”

Sending summons through Ukrposhta is no different from sending court documents: the summons arrives as an ordinary registered letter, which the addressee must receive under his signature. About this reported general director of “Ukrposhta” Ihor Smilyanskyi in a comment for Suspilny.

According to Smilyanskyi, if the addressee does not receive the letter personally, a message about the delivery attempt remains. If after that the subpoena is not requested, it is returned to the sender – the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. The procedure is clearly regulated by legislation, and summonses are sent in ordinary envelopes, which makes it impossible to immediately recognize their content.

On September 24, “Ukrainian Pravda” reported that the government allocated 71.82 million hryvnias for the centralized printing of 900,000 summonses by the end of 2024. According to the plan, 300,000 summonses will be printed every month, and the Ministry of Finance will provide funds for this from the reserve fund of the state budget.

Centralized printing will be carried out by the Ministry of Defense together with state enterprises that are of strategic importance for the economy and security of Ukraine in the printing industry. All processes will take place on the basis of contracts concluded between the Ministry of Defense, “Ukrposhta” and relevant state enterprises.
