A medical plane crashed in Philadelphia: a child and 5 other people were among the dead

In the USA, a Learjet 55 medical plane crashed northeast of Philadelphia (Pennsylvania). About informs TV channel CBS.

According to the Federal Civil Aviation Administration, there were six people on board. The plane, bound for Springfield-Branson, Missouri, crashed shortly after takeoff from the local airport. The dead included a sick child, her companion and four crew members.

The Learjet 55 had taken off from the Northeast Philadelphia airport and was headed to Springfield-Branson National Airport in Missouri, located about 1,800 km to the southwest.

The causes of the plane crash are still unknown. At the time of the accident, cold, rainy weather and poor visibility were observed in the city. Firefighters and rescuers worked at the scene of the tragedy for several hours. Approximately two hours after the plane crashed, most of the ignition sources were extinguished.

US President Donald Trump expressed his condolences:

“So sad to see a plane go down in Philadelphia. Even more innocent lives have been lost. Our people are fully involved in the response. First responders are already getting the recognition they deserve for their excellent work.”
