More than a million Ukrainians found refuge in Poland: from which regions are the most refugees?
After February 24, 2022, Poland became home to more than a million Ukrainians fleeing the war. According to the analysis of the international employment agency Gremi Personal, the largest number of refugees came from the Dnipropetrovsk region (9.82%).
The top 10 also included:
- Khmelnytskyi region (6.8%)
- Ivano-Frankivsk Region (6.3%)
- Lviv region (6.05%)
- Volyn region (5.79%)
- Rivne region (5.79%)
- Kharkiv region (5.29%)
- Zhytomyr Region (5.29%)
- Vinnytsia region (4.53%)
In the spring of 2022, residents of regions near the war zone were the first to go to Poland. Already in the winter of 2023-2024, the majority of Ukrainians in Poland were labor migrants.
