The command noted that a technical malfunction occurred during the flight, which the pilot promptly reported to the flight director.
“Then he acted competently, as he should in crisis situations, and ejected successfully. The search and rescue team found the pilot, his condition is stable.” – noted in the Air Force.
Although the exact location of the incident has not been officially disclosed, for information Hromadske, the plane crashed near Lutsk. There were no casualties on the ground. A special commission has been appointed to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi expressed himself regarding the loss of a combat aircraft, stressing that it was not destroyed by the enemy.
“So that there were no fakes and informational speculations. Unfortunately, we lost our combat plane, a French machine, very effective, one of our “mirages”. The pilot managed to escape, and it was not a Russian shoot-down. We will add strength to our army.” – said the head of state.
It will be recalled that starting in March 2025, the Ukrainian defense forces began using French Mirage 2000 fighters to counter large-scale attacks by Russia.
