A new mobilization mechanism: the General Staff announced an alternative to the TCC
The General Staff of the Armed Forces proposes to simplify the procedure of mobilization for military service.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has proposed radical changes in the procedure for enlisting citizens for military service during mobilization. According to information, issued on August 1, 2024, the new rules will allow commanders of military units to carry out conscription without the participation of territorial recruitment and social support centers (TCC and SP). These changes aim to make the mobilization process more efficient and transparent.
The main goals of the proposed changes:
- Simplify the mechanism of attracting citizens to military service during mobilization:
- The proposed approach provides for a faster and more transparent implementation of the draft, minimizing bureaucratic obstacles. This will allow to reduce the time between the decision on mobilization and the actual conscription of conscripts.
2. Provide commanders with the opportunity to select motivated personnel:
- Commanders of military units will be able to directly influence the personnel selection process. This approach will ensure the involvement of more motivated and trained servicemen, which will positively affect the combat readiness of units.
3. Allow conscripts to choose vacant positions in military units:
- Conscripts will have the opportunity to choose positions according to their civilian profession or skills. This will contribute to greater adaptation to military service, allowing the use of professional abilities of citizens in the military sphere.
4. To reduce the risk of conscription of citizens through TCC and SP to unwanted military units:
- The new conscription mechanism reduces the risk of conscripts being sent to units where they do not want to serve. This will increase the level of satisfaction and motivation among the recruits as they will have more control over their assignment.
