Mine action operators can now rent demining machines. Such a service will be provided on an ongoing basis by two manufacturers of specialized equipment, informs Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.
“The ability for operators not to buy a demining machine, but to rent one, increases the opportunities in mine action many times over. For example, an operator who won a tender for demining a rural area can rent a machine, undergo training, get the appropriate certificate, and then close the contract for demining the area many times faster.” – noted Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Ihor Bezkaravainy.
The equipment rental service was introduced by the company “GCS Ukraine”, which represents the Swiss-German manufacturer GCS. The first contract was signed with the international operator “Danish Church Aid”, which rented a heavy demining machine “GCS-200”.
According to the terms of the contract, “GCS Ukraine” will provide training to “Danish Church Aid” personnel, accompany the rental process and provide the equipment with the necessary spare parts. It is also possible to buy back the car later.
In addition, the company “RoverTech” launched the possibility of leasing the demining machine “Snake” by signing a corresponding agreement with one of the Ukrainian banks.
