A new scandal with textbooks: images of Russian soldiers were found in “Defense of the Fatherland”.

In Ukraine, a scandal related to new school textbooks arose again. This time, in the “Protection of the Fatherland” manual, which is studied by 10th graders, an image of the Russian military was discovered, signed as “Modern equipment of a soldier of the Armed Forces.”
The image caused outrage among students and parents of one of the Kyiv schools. The students noticed that the camouflage in the photo, the body armor and the helmet belong to the Russian “Warrior” kit. The photo also shows the AK-107 assault rifle and the Russian “Orsis” T-5000 sniper rifle, which had not been used in Ukraine before.
The mother of one of the students said that the high school students flipped through the textbook and quickly noticed this mistake, distinguishing Russian equipment from Ukrainian.
Oleksiy Godzenko of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed that the image shows Russian soldiers.
The director of the school where this error was discovered noted that he had not received any instructions from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine regarding the withdrawal of the textbook. According to him, textbooks currently have nothing to replace them with.
At the same time, the MES accuses the publishing house of a mistake, explaining that the Institute for the Modernization of the Content of Education checks only the texts of the textbooks, and the publishers themselves choose the illustrations.
