Parliament strengthened the responsibility of officials for non-transparent use of public funds

On February 12, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law that strengthens the responsibility of officials, managers and recipients of budget funds for the use of state and local finances, as well as the funds of enterprises of the state and communal sectors. About this reported Head of the Parliamentary Committee on the Organization of State Power, Regional Development, Local Self-Government and Urban Planning, Olena Shulyak.

260 People’s Deputies voted for draft law No. 10255 in the second reading and as a whole. Olena Shulyak noted that the document provides for increasing the responsibility of officials for the non-transparent use of public funds and obliges them to publish financial information in a timely and reliable manner.

In addition, the law expands the powers of financial control bodies, introduces administrative sanctions for violation of norms and improves mechanisms for auditing budget expenditures. The examination of cases of such administrative offenses is entrusted to the bodies of state financial control. With this in mind, appropriate changes are being made to Article 2341 of the Code of Administrative Offenses.

We would like to remind you that earlier the Verkhovna Rada adopted as a basis and in general a resolution extending the terms of passing the military medical commission for disabled citizens of Ukraine until June 5, 2025.
