In Ukraine, there are currently about a million people who have the status of a participant in hostilities, and more than 100 thousand people have received the status of persons with disabilities. About this reported Minister of Veteran Affairs Natalia Kalmykova.
“The total number is about one million people with the status of combatant and more than 100 thousand people with disabilities”, the official said.
She also emphasized that one of the key tasks of the ministry is the implementation of the Veterans Policy Strategy until 2030. The document identifies three main priorities — restoring human capital and ensuring the social welfare of veterans, respecting and honoring the contribution of veterans, and strengthening the country’s defense capabilities.
Kalmykova also noted that the regional military administrations are already actively working on the development of regional plans for the implementation of the strategy at the local level. This will allow taking into account the specifics of each region and more effectively support veterans and their families.
