About a thousand Ukrainians have officially returned to the occupied territories

About a thousand Ukrainians returned to the temporarily occupied territories. About this informs Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine.
“As of December 2, 2023, 4.9 million IDPs were registered. That is, the number of IDPs decreased by 250,000 people during the year. According to the data of the electronic systems of the Ministry of Social Policy, as of November 1, 2024, a total of 29,000 people returned to their previous place of residence (about 7.7% of the total number of those who were unregistered)”, the message says.
The Ministry clarifies that of the 29,000 people who returned, the majority are those who chose conditionally safe areas (18,900), while 9,000 people returned to areas where hostilities are ongoing.
“This number includes Ukrainians who returned to any of the country’s regions, in particular, those that are considered conditionally safe (for example, Kyiv region, Zhytomyr region, Chernihiv region, etc.). Of these 29 thousand: one thousand returned to TOT; 18.9 thousand – to conditionally safe territories; 9,000 are the territories of possible hostilities.” – noted in the department.
