After Yermak’s meeting with Trump’s team, Ukraine plans to announce readiness for peace

The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, held a number of meetings with representatives of the US President Donald Trump’s team. About this informs “Voice of America”.

The publication notes that the purpose of Yermak’s visit was to establish contacts with the team of the newly elected head of the USA. Ukraine, exhausted by the war with Russia, is preparing to declare its readiness for a peaceful settlement of the conflict.

During the trip to Washington, the Ukrainian delegation held talks with Michael Waltz, a candidate for the post of White House national security adviser, and Keith Kellogg, whom Trump plans to appoint as a special representative for Ukraine. Yermak also visited Florida and Washington. Most of the meetings took place in the US capital, although in Florida he had a conversation with the future chief of staff of Trump’s White House, Susan Wiles.

In addition, the Ukrainian delegation discussed important issues with the elected vice president of the USA JD Vance. Keith Kellogg positively assessed the current administration’s efforts to supply Ukraine with weapons, considering it leverage on Russia to end the war. However, Trump’s team did not show much interest in supporting the idea of Ukraine joining NATO, which is a priority of Kyiv.
