The head of the European Commission announced the allocation of €3.5 billion in aid to Ukraine
The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, announced that in March, Ukraine will receive a new financial tranche of 3.5 billion euros from the European Union. Statement sounded during the International Summit of Support to Ukraine in Kyiv.
“Europe is here to strengthen Ukraine at this critical moment. I can announce that a new payment of 3.5 billion euros for Ukraine will arrive as early as March.” Von der Leyen said.
She emphasized that not only the future of Ukraine is at stake, but also the whole of Europe, therefore strengthening Ukrainian stability remains a priority task for the EU.
“To date, our Union and member states have supported Ukraine in the amount of 134 billion euros. This is more than anyone else.” – stated the official.
We will remind that the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the Head of the European Council, Antonio Kosta, arrived in Kyiv to participate in the International Summit of Support for Ukraine. In addition to them, the President of Finland Alexander Stubb, the Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Frederiksen, the Prime Minister of Iceland Kristrun Frostadouttir, the Prime Minister of Norway Jonas Gar Stere, the Prime Minister of Sweden Ulf Kristersson and a number of other leaders of Western countries are taking part in the event.
