More than 10 people were killed in a terrorist attack in Germany

In the German city of Magdeburg, a car rammed into a crowd of Christmas market visitors, killing more than ten people. About this informs PICTURE.
According to eyewitnesses, the car drove straight into the crowd between the stalls and sped off in the direction of the town hall. People ran away in panic.
As a result of the incident, at least 11 people died, and about 80 were injured. Medics are working at the scene of the tragedy, providing assistance to the victims. The fair was immediately closed and tram traffic in the area was temporarily suspended.
Later, the police arrested the driver of the car. He turned out to be a man born in 1974 who comes from Saudi Arabia. Shortly before the collision, he rented a car. There is currently no information about his possible involvement in Islamist movements. In 2006, he moved to Germany, worked as a doctor in Bernburg and has a permanent residence permit in the country.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz expressed his condolences to the victims and their families.
“The reports from Magdeburg make us assume the worst. My thoughts are with the victims and their loved ones. We stand on their side and on the side of the people of Magdeburg. My gratitude is dedicated to the selfless rescue services in these alarming hours.”, – he noted.
