Over the past month, 7,400 public procurement transactions were carried out through the “Prozorro” platform. The total amount of expenses for April amounted to 78.5 billion hryvnias. Most often, the funds were directed to construction and the purchase of energy resources.
“We have already reached the level of procurement that was before the start of the full-scale invasion. Now about 80% of all funds for public procurement are spent through Prozorro. Currently, the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine is working to improve the efficiency of procurement, as well as to introduce the best European practices. In the near future we will submit to the Verkhovna Rada a draft of amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On Public Procurement”. It should approve new tools to ensure the effectiveness of complex procurements, – the Deputy Minister of Economy notes Nadiya Bigun.
In particular, it is planned to spend 12.3 billion hryvnias on purchases from the direction of repair and reconstruction of buildings. 5.7 billion hryvnias were earmarked for the purchase of medicines, and 4.7 billion hryvnias were allocated for road works and the purchase of electrical energy. Purchases are made through Prozorro and drones. Last month, the platform announced plans to purchase drones worth UAH 2.6 billion.
In March, 56.9 billion hryvnias were spent on state procurement through Prozorro. Thanks to the auctions, it was possible to save 6.1 billion hryvnias of state funds.
We will remind, in May The Ministry of Defense announced the beginning of procurement of food products for the military for the second half of 2024. It is planned to improve the diet of Ukrainian defenders, in particular, add more fresh vegetables and fruits and reduce the amount of canned food.
It is planned to allocate 22.1 billion hryvnias for the provision of food to the army in 6 months. The auction for the selection of product suppliers will begin in the morning of May 17 and end at midnight on May 22.
