The investigative judge of the Oktyabr District Court of Poltava seized the documents of the district military medical commissions of the Poltava region. This decision was made on the basis of the research materials of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption and the investigation of the Investigative Department of the GUNP in the Poltava region.
For data NAZK, Poltava region shows the highest rate (20%) of persons recognized as unfit for military service after passing the VLK. In addition, the region is among the five regions with the largest number of persons recognized as having limited fitness.
The investigation believes that employees of the VLK of Poltava Oblast could have received bribes for declaring persons unfit or limited fit for service. Currently, a pre-trial investigation is ongoing, during which the reliability of the medical documentation of conscripts and the legality of the grounds for determining their suitability for service are being checked.
“In order to conduct a full, comprehensive and objective pre-trial investigation of criminal proceedings, taking into account the fact that seized property can be evidence of the commission of a crime and contains information that can be used as evidence of facts and circumstances that are the subject of a pre-trial investigation and are necessary for conducting expert research, it became necessary to arrest him”, – it is stated in the decision of the Oktyabrsky District Court of Poltava.
In December 2023, NAZK published a study that revealed potential corruption risks in the activities of VLK throughout Ukraine.
